Journal: Fukuoka Igaku Zasshi; 1990 Jun; 81(6):226-30. PubMed ID: 2205553. Abstract: Giant hepatic cysts were effectively treated by transhepatic ethanol injection therapy. A 68-year-old male and a 70-year-old female were admitted to Kyushu University Hospital because of epigastric fullness. Ultrasound and CT examination disclosed a giant cyst in the left lobe of the liver of both patients. 99% ethanol of about a quarter of volume of the cysts were infused through catheter transdermal. After retaining for 15 minutes the ethanol was discarded and this procedure repeated twice. The cysts have been keeping a minimum size and the patients are free from symptoms for over one year.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
