Reporting surgical wound infection rates to the OR nurse is valued and used as a feed-back mechanism to monitor aseptic technique in the operating room. 2. At the institution surveyed, the chief influences on OR personnel's surgical aseptic practice were the OR nurse, followed by the infection control nurse and then the attending surgeon. 3.
