  • Title: Quality assurance. Sisyphean or sibylline?
    Author: Batsakis JG.
Journal: Arch Pathol Lab Med; 1990 Nov; 114(11):1173-4. PubMed ID: 2241531.
    Abstract:
Quality control and quality assurance are inseparable from the practice of anatomic and clinical pathology and are not new to either of these disciplines. Indeed, the laboratory comparison programs of the College of American Pathologists were founded on such principles nearly a half-century ago. The "rediscovery" of these principles has spawned an industry unto itself and in this event pathology is in danger of entangling itself in an expensive, parallel (not integral) process that may be Sisyphean.
