Abstract: A hybrid electrolyte involving tetramethylammonium (TMA) hydroquinone/benzoquinone redox couple is formulated. This electrolyte is more transparent than the traditional I(-)/I(3)(-) electrolyte and has negligible absorption in the visible region.
