Title: Conservative management of adult epiglottitis. Author: Wolf M, Strauss B, Kronenberg J, Leventon G. Journal: Laryngoscope; 1990 Feb; 100(2 Pt 1):183-5. PubMed ID: 2299960. Abstract: A 10-year retrospective study of 30 adults suffering from acute epiglottitis is reported. Two clinical forms of onset were noted: gradual and accelerated. Abscess formation was present in 27% of cases. None of the patients required intubation or tracheotomy.
