Title: Segmental H-reflex studies in upper and lower limbs of healthy subjects. Author: Sabbahi MA, Khalil M. Journal: Arch Phys Med Rehabil; 1990 Mar; 71(3):216-22. PubMed ID: 2317140. Abstract: The H-reflex has been recorded from the flexor carpi radialis muscle in the upper limb and vastus medialis (quadriceps) muscle in the lower limb in relaxed healthy subjects. The characteristics of these reflexes have been compared with those of the soleus H-reflexes, recorded with the same technique, and similar behavior has been reported. The techniques and pitfalls of recording these segmental reflexes and their clinical and neurophysiologic significance are discussed in light of the relevant literature. These segmental reflexes will be useful in studying conduction and integrity of C7, L4, and S1 spinal segments.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
