Title: Complete mitochondrial genome of the Osbeck's grenadier anchovy Coilia mystus (Clupeiformes, Engraulidae). Author: Bo Z, Xu T, Wang R, Jin X, Sun Y. Journal: Mitochondrial DNA; 2013 Dec; 24(6):657-9. PubMed ID: 23521371. Abstract: Firstly, the complete mitochondrial genome of Coilia mystus was determined. The genome of C. mystus is 17,143 bp in length and consists of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 2 main non-coding regions (the control region and the origin of the light strand replication), in which the gene composition and order are similar to most other vertebrates. The overall base composition of C. mystus is T 26.8%, C 26.6%, A 30.8%, and G 15.8%, with a slight A + T bias of 57.6%. These mitogenome sequence data would play an important role in population genetics and phylogenetic analysis of the Clupeiformes.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
