Title: [The healing of chronic stomach ulcers by irradiating them with a helium-neon laser in rats subjected to vagotomy]. Author: Baĭbekov IM, Nurullaev LD. Journal: Patol Fiziol Eksp Ter; 1990; (1):48-50. PubMed ID: 2352783. Abstract: Helium-neon laser (HNL) irradiation of chronic gastric ulcers (GU) in rats subjected to vagotomy promotes their healing. This is linked with the vagotomy-induced decrease in the number of parietal and chief cells. Irradiation of the gastric mucous membrane with HNL accelerates the differentiation of the chief and parietal cells without increasing their relative volume in the fundal glands. The number of mucocytes in these glands increases, which facilitates intensification of the protective factors of the gastric mucosa. It was established that in complex use of vagotomy and HNL in chronic GU their positive properties are potentiated.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
