Title: [Activation of the endogenous fibrinolytic system using intra-arterial heparin therapy in acute deep venous thrombosis]. Author: Fontányi S. Journal: Phlebologie; 1990; 43(1):167-72. PubMed ID: 2353043. Abstract: The endogenous fibrinolytic enzyme system activating and other complex effects of heparin and further factors were exploited in acute deep phlebothrombosis. Intra arterial intermittent prolonged administration was carried out in 48 cases with a success rate of 80 per cent. The criterion of success was the lack of post-thrombotic syndrome in follow up. Our results seem to reveal that endogenous fibrinolytic potential may be activated by heparin, that factors in coagulation, hemodynamics and rheology may support and that the knowledge from complex heparin effect is important for its use in the post-lytic-period treatment nowadays.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
