Title: Treatment of postpneumonectomy empyema with or without bronchopleural fistula. Author: Van Raemdonck D, Kesteman J, Roekaerts F, Jadoul P. Journal: Acta Chir Belg; 1990; 90(2):59-66. PubMed ID: 2356679. Abstract: Bronchopleural fistula with empyema is an uncommon but tragic complication after pulmonary resection. The possible therapeutic procedures are discussed. The patient often requires multiple surgical interventions and prolonged hospitalisation.
