  • Title: [Pathogenesis of dumping syndrome].
    Author: Gadzhiev AS.
Journal: Khirurgiia (Mosk); 1990 Mar; (3):66-70. PubMed ID: 2359247.
    Abstract:
Disturbed function of the pancreas, as a consequence of its morphological changes, dominates in the pathogenesis of the dumping syndrome. Operations performed with the object of delaying passage of food from the stomach into the intestine, also delay the process of carbohydrate absorption and, consequently, provide the possibility for the "functionally defective" pancreas to cope with the increased load for its endocrine function.
