  • Title: [Local immunologic manifestations in chronic hyperplastic laryngitis. 2. Clinico-immunomorphologic characteristics of different variants of the disease].
Author: Shtil' AA, Krivonos VA, Stadnikov AA.
Journal: Vestn Otorinolaringol; 1990; (2):47-51. PubMed ID: 2360309.
    Abstract:
Clinical and immunomorphological examinations of various forms of chronic hyperplastic laryngitis that differed in their location, dissemination and histology (biopsies from 50 patients) were performed. They revealed an increased migration of lymphoid cells to the epithelium and mucosa plate itself and an enhanced activity of the cells in the pathological focus. These data give support to the concept that immunological mechanisms are involved in the control of tissue rearrangement and that mucosa enlargement is of inflammatory origin in the case of chronic hyperplastic laryngitis.
