  • Title: [Anatomic effects of Stamey's urethrocystopexy as modified by Orozco and Perez Poo].
Author: Orozco Fariñas R, Oro Ortiz J.
Journal: Arch Esp Urol; 1990 Mar; 43(2):121-4. PubMed ID: 2363575.
    Abstract:
The results of the Stamey endoscopic cervicopexy modified procedure (Orozco-Pérez Poo) performed in 20 incontinent female patients are analyzed relative to urethrovesical prolapse, length of urethra, position and mobility of the vesical neck and base, diameter of the proximal urethra, and the configuration of the vesicoureteric junction, including the posterior angle. It is concluded that no significant difference exists between the results reported by Stamey and co-workers and those achieved by the authors. The modified procedure permits optimal re-placement of the vesical neck, lengthening and fixation of the urethra; thus, measuring the length of the urethra can be useful in the postoperative evaluation of the qualitative results afforded by this procedure.
