Title: Endopyelotomy for the management of ureteropelvic junction obstruction. Author: Knobloch RP. Journal: J Miss State Med Assoc; 1990 Jul; 31(7):217-8. PubMed ID: 2370657. Abstract: Endourological advances have given rise to endopyelotomy as a means of correcting ureteropelvic junction obstruction either primary or secondary. Endopyelotomy can be accomplished with a shorter hospital stay and recuperation period as well as less morbidity than open procedures. It seems particularly useful in correcting ureteropelvic junction obstruction associated with renal calculi and failed surgical procedures. Initial reports on its use as treatment of primary obstruction are also encouraging. Based on long term results of others and our limited experience, this procedure seems to be a useful addition to the urological armamentarium for treatment of ureteropelvic junction obstruction.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
