  • Title: Colonic lesions associated with Henoch-Schonlein purpura.
    Author: Cappell MS, Gupta AM.
Journal: Am J Gastroenterol; 1990 Sep; 85(9):1186-8. PubMed ID: 2389731.
    Abstract:
Two patients with Henoch-Schonlein purpura had occult heme-positive stools and numerous punctate erythematous lesions in the colon, observed on colonoscopy. The colonic lesions resembled in appearance the cutaneous lesions present on the lower extremities in both patients. It is possible that these colonic lesions are the cause of the occult gastrointestinal bleeding frequently associated with Henoch-Schonlein purpura.
