Title: [Efficacy of intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy in colorectal cancer with liver metastasis]. Author: Kakizaki K, Takahashi N, Yamauchi H. Journal: Gan To Kagaku Ryoho; 1990 Aug; 17(8 Pt 2):1665-8. PubMed ID: 2389955. Abstract: Twenty-nine cases with metastatic liver cancer from colorectal carcinoma were reviewed to clarify the efficacy of intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy for survival. Liver resection was performed in eight cases, ten patients were treated with intra-arterial chemotherapy and 11 patients by systemic chemotherapy. The survival rate was calculated by Kaplan-Meier method. One-year and two-year survival rate were 65% and 65% in the resected group, 63% and 32% in the intra-arterial chemotherapy group, and 45% and 0% in the systemic chemotherapy group. More favorable results were observed in the intra-arterial chemotherapy group than the systemic group, especially in H2 patients. However, no statistical difference was observed. From our results, intra-arterial chemotherapy may be an effective treatment for the patients with liver metastasis from colorectal cancer in terms of survival.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
