Abstract: Choanal atresia is a developmental failure of the nasal cavity to communicate with nasopharynx. It can be membranous or bony; unilateral or bilateral; complete or incomplete. Bilateral choanal atresia is less common and usually present in neonatal period with severe respiratory distress. Imaging provides definitive diagnosis by choanography.
