Abstract: Ankle arthrodesis is a common procedure for tubercular arthritis in India. However, attaining fusion in osteoporotic bones is difficult to achieve by both external and internal fixation methods described in the literature. We report two cases for ankle arthrodesis using an anterior approach to the ankle and internal fixation with a bridging anteriorly placed AO L/AO T plate. Both ankles were fused.
