Title: [Use of immunologic methods in the differential diagnosis of tuberculosis]. Author: Evdokimov VN. Journal: Lab Delo; 1989; (5):65-6. PubMed ID: 2473267. Abstract: Immunologic tests: lymphocyte blastogenesis, indirect hemagglutination, passive hemolysis, complement consumption -- have proved to be highly effective and specific for the differentiation of tuberculosis from other diseases. The diagnosis of tuberculosis has been confirmed in 81.7% of patients with the pulmonary process and in 75.1% of those with the urologic and gynecologic localization of the disease. Tuberculosis has been diagnosed by immunologic tests alone in 29 patients (9.4%) with pulmonary and in 6 ones (11.3%) with urologic and gynecologic processes; later this diagnosis has been confirmed clinically and histologically. In nonspecific processes all the titres of the immunologic tests have been below the diagnostic level.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
