Title: Rapid detection of HIV-1 in clinical samples by co-culture with heat-shocked cells. Author: Re MC, Furlini G, La Placa M. Journal: J Virol Methods; 1989 Dec; 26(3):313-7. PubMed ID: 2482842. Abstract: A mild heat-shock (10 min at 44 degrees C), performed just before seeding on healthy PBL used for co-cultivation, allows the detection of viral markers (p24 core antigen and reverse transcriptase) in a very short time. This suggests that heat-shocked PBL can be employed routinely for the rapid detection of HIV-1 in clinical samples.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
