Title: [Nucleolar organizer regions in gastric cancer]. Author: Roa I, Araya JC, de Aretxabala X, Mauriz A, Cea M. Journal: Rev Med Chil; 1989 Aug; 117(8):857-60. PubMed ID: 2485110. Abstract: Nucleolar organizer regions may be observed by colloidal silver stains. A considerable increase in the number of regions may be observed in tumors and other pathologic processes as an index of cellular proliferation. Among 20 studies in patients with gastric carcinoma we found a significantly greater number of nucleolar organizer regions in well differentiated tumors as opposed to less differentiated ones. No difference was found in nucleolar organizer regions between seal ring cell tumors and adenocarcinoma.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
