Title: The complete mitochondrial genome of the Siganus canaliculatus (Perciformes: Siganidae). Author: Zhou L, Xie Z, Zhang Y. Journal: Mitochondrial DNA A DNA Mapp Seq Anal; 2016; 27(2):1111-2. PubMed ID: 24983151. Abstract: The complete mitochondrial genome of the Siganus canaliculatus was presented in this study. The mitochondrial genome is 16,492 bp long and consists of 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and a control region. The gene order and composition of Siganus canaliculatus mitochondrial genome was similar to that of most other vertebrates. The nucleotide compositions of the light strand in descending order is 29.74% of C, 28.15% of A, 25.43% of T and 16.68% of G. With the exception of the NADH dehydrogenase subunit 6 (ND6) and 8 tRNA genes, all other mitochondrial genes are encoded on the heavy strand.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
