  • Title: [Coronary angioplasty].
    Author: Corcos T, Favereau X, Souffrant G.
Journal: Ann Cardiol Angeiol (Paris); 1989 Jan; 38(1):17-35. PubMed ID: 2522754.
    Abstract:
Since the first percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty performed in 1977 by Andreas Grüntzig, this non surgical technique has become an established method of myocardial revascularization. This overall report reviews the experience of the last ten years, acquired on several hundred thousand patients. We have especially detailed the chapters concerning the immediate and late results, restenosis, the "Achilles" heel of angioplasty, and concerning the indications, especially stressing multivessel disease and acute myocardial infarction, topics which are currently relatively controverted.
