Title: [Sumatriptan plus naproxen for acute migraine attacks in adults]. Author: Schytz HW, Bendtsen L. Journal: Ugeskr Laeger; 2014 Aug 04; 176(32):. PubMed ID: 25292477. Abstract: It is of great importance to improve acute treatment of migraine attacks. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) and triptans have different anti-nociceptive effects, so a combination of these could theoretically lead to more effective acute migraine treatment. A recent meta-analysis investigated the combined effect of sumatriptan and naproxen and found it to be more effective than sumatriptan alone. However, the number needed to treat was high. Combined sumatriptan/naproxen should be reserved to those without efficient response to triptans.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
