    Abstract:
    The literature data on doubling time (DT) and thymidine-labelling index for small-cell lung cancer are analysed. Parameters describing DT distribution in small-cell lung cancer are discussed and a considerable variability of this factor from case to case is established. As far as DT is concerned small-cell lung cancer should be considered a malignancy characterized by moderate rate of growth. The importance of tumor growth rate in evaluating treatment effectiveness is emphasized.
