    Abstract:
    The experience with the treatment of 602 patients with gastrointestinal bleeding before the introduction of endoscopy, and 805--with the use of endoscopy is summarized. At investigation, it was established that in 587 (72.9%) patients, the bleeding stopped, in 180 (27.1%)--it continued, and required in 93 the performance of electrocoagulation hemostasis. In 25 patients, the guided hypotension was used in the complex with the other methods of arresting the bleeding, the favourable outcome was noted in 22.
