Title: [Anorectal abnormalities--incontinence and abnormalities]. Author: Böhmann J, Kolb H. Journal: Langenbecks Arch Chir Suppl II Verh Dtsch Ges Chir; 1989; ():997-1001. PubMed ID: 2577680. Abstract: The quality of life of incontinent patients was analysed in a group of 494 children treated over 20 years. The ratio of incontinent children was constant above an age of 10 years. Incontinence correlates with social status of the family; it is better in single children and worse in single-parent families. School outcome and professional status is significantly better for continent patients. The main problems of the children and adults were analysed. Compensatory mechanisms and the importance of early care of incontinent patients are mentioned.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
