  • Title: A case of mania secondary to propafenone.
    Author: Jack RA.
Journal: J Clin Psychiatry; 1985 Mar; 46(3):104-5. PubMed ID: 2579063.
    Abstract:
A case of mania secondary to the administration of a new antiarrhythmic, propafenone, is described. This is a previously unrecognized potential complication in the use of this agent. Since propafenone is chemically related to a new antidepressant, bupropion, it may possess some antidepressant activity and thus have the potential to produce affective psychiatric side effects.
