Title: Chlamydia in pregnant women: southeastern Wisconsin. Author: Baumgardner DJ, Christopherson A, Momont S. Journal: Wis Med J; 1989 Sep; 88(9):12-5. PubMed ID: 2588649. Abstract: Three hundred forty-two pregnant women were screened for the presence of Chlamydia trachomatis in the endocervix using a direct fluorescent antibody test (MicroTrak, Syva Co.). The prevalence of C trachomatis infection was 11.7% in our urban, non-inner-city, family practice center. Single marital status was significantly associated with C trachomatis infection, but obstetrical factors were similar in patients with and without positive chlamydial smears. The use of non-culture techniques to screen community populations of pregnant women for C trachomatis is discussed.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
