Title: [A clinical study of 55 cases of renal cell carcinoma]. Author: Saito K, Iwamuro S, Fujii H, Kondo I. Journal: Hinyokika Kiyo; 1989 Nov; 35(11):1847-52. PubMed ID: 2618882. Abstract: Fifty five cases of renal cell carcinoma were treated by nephrectomy at our department between 1970 and 1987. A retrospective analysis was performed with TNM staging system of the General Rule for Clinical and Pathological Studies on Renal Cell Carcinoma, which was established by the Japanese Urological Association in 1983. Overall 3, 5 and 10-year survival rates by Kaplan-Meier method were 74, 67 and 52%, respectively. Several factors which might be related to prognosis were analyzed. The pathological T-stage and histological grade of tumors were found to be significant prognostic factors. As compared to these factors, venous invasion appeared to be less important. With respect to clinical findings, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein were found to be prognostic factors.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
