Under the conditions of iridium catalyzed transfer hydrogenation using the chiral precatalyst (R)-Ir-I modified by SEGPHOS, carbonyl α-(cyclopropyl)allylation may be achieved with equal facility from alcohol or aldehyde oxidation levels.
