Title: Giant thymolipoma: A rare case presentation. Author: Goswami A, Baruah AR. Journal: Asian Cardiovasc Thorac Ann; 2017 Feb; 25(2):143-145. PubMed ID: 26265159. Abstract: Thymolipoma is an unusual benign tumor of the mediastinum, comprising 2%-9% of thymic neoplasms. Most presentations are atypical. Here we present the case of a 68-year-old man with effort intolerance and fatigue for 4 months. Computed tomography of the chest revealed a lipomatous mass in the anterior mediastinum and bilateral hemithoraces. There were atelectatic changes in both lungs. The tumor was resected via a midline sternotomy. The patient had to be ventilated for 3 days postoperatively. The histopathological diagnosis was pleomorphic thymolipoma.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
