Title: [Histologic studies of paraproteinemic nephropathy in BALB/c mice with mineral oil-induced plasmacytoma]. Author: Janz S, Rassmann B, Raabe F, Storch H. Journal: Z Urol Nephrol; 1989 Dec; 82(12):671-8. PubMed ID: 2629422. Abstract: In histological examinations of kidneys from BALB/c mice with induced plasmocytoma (n = 75) the well known morphological correlates of paraproteinemic nephropathy were found, but further changes like reactive tubular giant cells and interstitial sclerosing processes have been missing. Furthermore, in the severity of nephropathy no correlation were found between the level of paraprotein in serum and/or ascites and the duration of the disease. This may be an indirect sign of an individual nephrotoxicity of the Bence-Jones proteins.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
