    Abstract:
    Five patients, suffering from tinnitus, perceptive hearing loss and vertigo were examined. A positive FTA - ABS test and a history of interstitial keratitis in early adult - life suggest a causal relationship between the Menière's triad and congenital syphilis in these cases. The value of a positive serological test (FTA - ABS or MHA - T.P.) in the presence of inner-ear symptoms is discussed.
