Title: [The effect of changes in the rate of gastric emptying on the development of dumping syndrome after vagotomy]. Author: Zuev VK, Smirnov AB. Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 1989 Dec; 144(12):43-5. PubMed ID: 2638788. Abstract: Under analysis were results of the stomach emptying rate in 85 patients with duodenal ulcer not earlier than 6 months after vagotomy. The dumping-syndrome took place in 47 of them. It was shown that when studying the dumping-syndrome the investigation of the evacuatory function of the stomach must be performed when patients are in vertical posture. Of main significance in the appearance of dumping-syndrome was the accelerated emptying of the stomach during the first 10 min after the test breakfast.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
