Title: Foreign Body Granuloma of the Epiglottic Vallecula Mimicking Malignancy on MRI and FDG PET/CT. Author: Dong A, Bai Y, Wang Y, Zuo C. Journal: Clin Nucl Med; 2016 Mar; 41(3):227-9. PubMed ID: 26447384. Abstract: A 66-year-old man complained of foreign body sensation of the throat and progressive dysphagia without any trigger. Videolaryngoscopy showed a whitish lesion in the epiglottic vallecula. Neck enhanced MRI showed a lesion in epiglottic vallecula with remarkable enhancement. FDG PET/CT showed intense FDG uptake of the lesion with SUVmax of 28. Malignant tumor was suspected. The patient underwent microlaryngoscopic surgery. Histopathologic findings of the specimen were consistent with foreign body granuloma.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
