    Abstract:
    In this review the cytograms of the nodular goiter, Hashimoto, de Quervain, Riedel's thyroiditis, adenomas including those from Askanazy's cells are given. Cytological description of thyroid carcinoma is given according to the histogenesis (from thyroid epithelium, Askanazy's cells, A-, B- and C-cells, squamous cells) and cell differentiation. The efficiency of the cytological diagnosis is analysed.
