Title: [Advanced research in hypoxic cells]. Author: Ando K. Journal: Gan No Rinsho; 1989 Oct; 35(13):1525-9. PubMed ID: 2685392. Abstract: Novel methodology and ideas which have recently been developed in the world were shortly reviewed in the field of tumor hypoxia. At subcellular level, hypoxia induces specific protein while hypoxia inhibits initiation of DNA replication. Radioresistant characteristics of hypoxic cells are questioned under two condition, i.e., post-irradiation hypoxia and chronic hypoxia in multicellular spheroids. A novel sandwich culture system can differentiate between oxic and chronic hypoxia with oxygen effect being excluded. Evidence for perfusion-limited, acute hypoxia is provided by a novel method employing vital staining and cell sorter.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
