    Author: Dubolazov VD.
Journal: Akush Ginekol (Mosk); 1989 Sep; (9):22-5. PubMed ID: 2688448.
    Abstract:
Ultrasonic screening was performed in 4200 pregnant females, mainly within 16-24 weeks of gestation. Various congenital abnormalities of fetal development were diagnosed in 41 females. 51 per cent of the examinees had various combinations of congenital malformations. The total detection rate of congenital malformation in the region studied was 14.7 per cent. The screening revealed the disease in 9.76 per cent of those examined. The data obtained evidenced the high performance of the technique in the prenatal diagnosis of fetal congenital malformations.
