Abstract: In the therapy of hyperlipemia nicotinic acid derivates, cholestyramine, fibrate derivates and HMG-CoA-reductase inhibitors are drugs of choice. The most important drugs of each group, the mode of action and the side effects are presented. In the therapy of hypercholesterolemia HMG-CoA-reductase inhibitors alone or in special cases in combination with low dose of cholestyramine are best qualified.
