Title: Interval Throwing and Hitting Programs in Baseball: Biomechanics and Rehabilitation. Author: Chang ES, Bishop ME, Baker D, West RV. Journal: Am J Orthop (Belle Mead NJ); 2016; 45(3):157-62. PubMed ID: 26991569. Abstract: Baseball injuries from throwing and hitting generally occur as a consequence of the repetitive and high-energy motions inherent to the sport. Biomechanical studies have contributed to understanding the pathomechanics leading to injury and to the development of rehabilitation programs. Interval-based throwing and hitting programs are designed to return an athlete to competition through a gradual progression of sport-specific exercises. Proper warm-up and strict adherence to the program allows the athlete to return as quickly and safely as possible.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
