    Abstract:
    The article reports a case where a combination of thoracic epidural block and general anaesthesia was of advantage during resection of a phaeochromocytoma. After pretreatment our patient went through bilateral tumor-resection with this kind of anaesthesia. Pre-per- and postoperatively blood pressure and heart-rate curves were stable without the use of vasodilating or inotropic agents. Symptoms, preoperative treatment and special conditions concerning anaesthesia to such patients are discussed briefly. We conclude that thoracic epidural anaesthesia is a good method for this kind of surgery.
