Title: [Ophthalmologic study in diabetic retinopathy]. Author: Bischoff P. Journal: Klin Monbl Augenheilkd; 1989 May; 194(5):393-5. PubMed ID: 2747132. Abstract: A questionnaire sent to 72 ophthalmologists and 74 general practitioners or internists revealed that in Switzerland probably no more than one-half of all diabetic patients are regularly seen by an ophthalmologist. The mean frequency of ophthalmological check-ups varies between about one year in patients with no fundus changes and six months in patients with background retinopathy. All diabetic patients should be screened regularly with a view to early laser treatment in proliferative stages.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
