  • Title: [Clinical aspects of trigeminal neuralgia].
    Author: Stepanchenko AV.
Journal: Zh Nevropatol Psikhiatr Im S S Korsakova; 1989; 89(4):8-12. PubMed ID: 2750389.
    Abstract:
Investigated were 84 patients with trigeminal neuralgia. Clinical traits of the disease were compared for some additional investigation techniques: thermodolorimetry, oral cavity stereognosis, multiparameter personality assessment technique and verbalization of pain experience. The described clinical phenomena suggest the involvement of trigeminal radicle in the trigeminal neuralgia. Additional techniques point to the involvement of fast-conducting myelinated fibers running through the nerve radicle. Besides, concomitant phobic and depressive syndromes were revealed.
