Title: [Differentiated high-frequency rhizotomy in trigeminal neuralgia]. Author: Ogleznev KIa, Grigorian IuA. Journal: Zh Vopr Neirokhir Im N N Burdenko; 1989; (2):38-41. PubMed ID: 2750400. Abstract: The methods and results of high-frequency differentiated rhizotomy in 40 patients with trigeminal neuralgia are discussed. The electrode was positioned precisely in the needed part of the sensory root by means of radiological and electrophysiological control. Stage-by-stage coagulation with obligatory test for sensitivity made it possible to produce analgesia without any marked disorders of tactile sense. Analysis showed that selective destruction of the pain-conducting fibres of the trigeminal root is a safe intervention and can be the principal method for the treatment of severe forms of trigeminal neuralgia.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
