    Abstract:
    As health professionals, one needs to interact with a wide range of people during the working day. This includes interaction with the other medical professionals, personnel, patients and their families, students, visitors, administrators and even medical-equipment salesmen. This demands that the health professionals must gain adequate inter-personal and communicative skills in order to master their work effectively in their settings as well as providing effective support to their patients. (Purtilo 1984) In order to understand how the health professionals can acquire an effective communicative skill let us consider the basic foundation underlying communication.
