Title: Enteritis cystica profunda in a patient with Crohn's disease. Author: Alexis J, Lubin J, Wallack M. Journal: Arch Pathol Lab Med; 1989 Aug; 113(8):947-9. PubMed ID: 2757498. Abstract: Colitis cystica profunda is an uncommon but well-recognized condition affecting the colon. Involvement of the small bowel, enteritis cystica profunda, is extremely rare, and is characterized by mucus-filled cystic spaces frequently lined by demonstrable epithelium. The cystic spaces are located within the submucosa and muscularis propria. Isolated cases have been described in association with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome and Crohn's disease. We report a case of enteritis cystica profunda in a 31-year-old man with Crohn's disease.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
