    Abstract:
During a long-term flight on Salyut-7 and Mir orbital stations a contact lens was used for the first time in order to correct mild ametropia of one of the crew members. He used a soft contact lens for 5 hrs on flight days 10, 30, 45 and 60. As a result, acuity of vision of the treated eye increased to 1.5. This study showed that contact lenses can be employed in space flight.
