Title: [Peritonitis, septic shock and endotoxin--an animal experiment study]. Author: Gögler H, Meckes P. Journal: Z Exp Chir Transplant Kunstliche Organe; 1989; 22(3):159-67. PubMed ID: 2763603. Abstract: Fecal peritonitis was produced by a sphincter-system leading to intestinal perforation. In 10 beagle dogs endotoxin was measured with the Limulus test. There was a correlation between endotoxin appearance and microbiological findings in the peritoneal cavity and in the blood.
