  • Title: [Compulsive neurosis and adolescence. The therapeutic process in an adolescent patient with compulsive neurosis].
    Author: Rohse H.
Journal: Prax Kinderpsychol Kinderpsychiatr; 1989 Sep; 38(7):241-50. PubMed ID: 2798336.
    Abstract:
The central anxiety of the young woman patient with compulsive neurosis who fears condemnation for sexual and aggressive desires unfolds within the context of the transfer relationship. It is shown here that the integration of the isolated and suppressed expressions of instinctual representatives and self-aspects is made possible through the acceptance of super-ego transfer. It is decisive for the process that the patient is sure that the therapist cannot be destroyed or seduced. The result of the achievement of integration is not only that the compulsive symptoms disappear but that the real task of adolescence as a struggle toward the integrated self and its own values comes to the fore.
